The contest will be held at Lake Cunningham Regional Park, where picnic tables are available.

 

Please apply one of contests, essay or drawing to your homeroom teacher. The application fee is $20. On Saturday (until April 13th), just inform your homeroom teacher of your intention to participate with the $20 participation fee and we will collect the application.

* Participation fees must be collected by school and sent as a single check, so you can send cash or write a check with Michelle Yoon.

 

1. The 26th Hangul Baekiljang Contest and the 19th Painting Contest Young-sil Jang Woodang Lee Hoe-young Project Contest

 

1) The 26th Hangul Hundred Days Contest

Entry Fee: $20

Items to be prepared: Personal writing implements, book holder (provided by the manuscript council)

Participation: Elementary School (5th grade or less) & Middle School (6th grade and above)

 

2) The 19th Painting Contest

Participation Fee: $20

Materials to be prepared: Personal drawing tools and drawing boards (drawings only, provided by the council)

Participation: Kindergarten (4~1st grade), Elementary school (2nd~5th grade), Middle school (6th~12th grade)

 

3) Jang Young-sil Woodang Lee Hoe-young Project Competition

Participation Fee: None

Participation: Elementary School (Grades K-5) & Middle School (Grades 6-12)

Individuals or groups (2-5 people) Individuals cannot participate as a group.

 

Display Board Submission: 9:00 am to 9:30 am on the day of the event.

 

4) Students' personal preparations are prepared by themselves.

(Writing tools, book holders, drawing tools and drawing boards, lunch boxes, water bottles, outerwear, hats, etc.)

 

5) There will be a 20 minute performance time after lunch on the day, and there will be a walking competition from 1:00-2:00.

The walking competition is an official event, so please participate. After that, you can hold athletic meets or other events for each school.

 

6) Please note that parents are solely responsible for the safety of students on the day of the competition.

 

3. Competition timetable

9:00 – 9:30 reception

 

9:30-10:00 Opening Ceremony

 

10:00 – 12:00 competition

-Exhibit a picnic table designated place and project entries

-Lunch can be started for each school that completed the competition early

 

12:00 – 1: 00 lunch

-School-specific sports day after lunch

 

1:00 – 2:00

Walking competition

-Encourage the participation of all participating students and teachers

 

4. Winner Announcement and Award Ceremony

1) Announcement of winners: Announced through the Northern California website at 10:00 the night of the competition

2) Awards Ceremony: May 11, 4th Immanuel Presbyterian Church (4435 Fortran Dr, San Jose, CA 95134)

 

5. Award details

1) All students who participated will receive a medal from the Council upon submitting their work.

2) Grand Prizes and Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Encouragement Prize winners will receive a trophy awarded by the President of the North Korean School of Fun in California.

3) Grand Prize winners and Gold Prize winners of the Baek Iljang and Painting Contest are listed by the Consul General of San Francisco and the Director of Education

Additional awards will be awarded. In particular, students who receive the grand prize at the Baek Iljang and Painting Contest will receive a scholarship from the council.
